Grage Leaves Gilmer

For the second time in the same number of years, the Gilmer High School football program will be looking for a new head coach.

Zach Grage spent just one year with the Bobcats, going 4-6 in the process. He confirmed his departure from GHS to #TeamFYNSports yesterday.

He cited “family reasons” as the explanation for his departure. Grage has accepted the same position in Thomasville, the hometown of his wife.

Grage was an assistant at Colquitt High School in Moultrie, Ga. when he was hired to take over at the helm of the Bobcats. The position at Gilmer was his first as a head coach.

Gilmer County School Board Superintendent Dr. Shanna Wilkes also confirmed the departure and stated that the board will be conducting an open search to fill the position.
