Mr. Clarence L. Mealer age 82, of Douglasville died Wed. April 20, 2016.
Mr. Mealer was born October 8, 1933 in Gilmer County the son of the late Daniel Phillip and Lola Turner Mealer. He graduated from Gilmer High School, Class of 1951 as Valedictorian, was self-employed as a Brick Mason and was a member of the Burnt Mountain Baptist Church. His wife Mary Sue Ponder Mealer preceded him death.
Survivors include: Son and daughter in law: Curtis and Barbara Mealer,Newnan, son and partner; Allen Mealer and Emmett Wright, Birmingham, Al, daughters and son in law; Linda and Jimmy Bearden, Carrolton, GA. Karen Williams, Douglasville, sister: Bonnie Parks, Dalton, grandchildren and spouses; Gina Spence, Beth Bostwick, Johnny and Candace Powers, Michael Powers, Jessica and Steven Williams, Josh and Jennifer Sewell, Daniel and Nikki Sewell, Heather and Brandon Rice. Great-grandchildren; Bradley Bostwick, Conner Bostwick, Kerri Spence, Dylan Powers, Aaliyah Powers, Addison Sewell, Ava Sewell, Lorin Rice, Sydney Rice, Jacob Sewell, Raylan Sewell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 23 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Holbert officiating.
Interment will be in the Burnt Mountain Church cemetery in Pickens County.
The family will meet with friends Friday from 5 until 9pm at the funeral home.
