Mrs. Elsie “Pat” Westbrook Green, age 101 of Cameron Hall in Canton, GA, formerly of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Wednesday morning, November 16, 2016, at Cameron Hall of Canton.
Mrs. Green was born May 26, 1915 in Canton, GA to her late parents Andrew Thomas and Minnie Anderson Westbrook. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay where she loved singing in the choir, playing the piano, and was involved in the United Methodist Womens group. Pat retired from Starnes Drugstore where she worked for many years, she loved sewing, china painting and quilting with her friend Reba Stover. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.R. “Bill” Green, Jr., great grandchild Jordan Thomas Etheridge, sister Marie Savage, and brother, Cecil Westbrook.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Buds Nunley of Tucker, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Jolynn Green of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren and in-laws, Cindy and David Sanford, Suzanne and Steve Hollingsworth, David and Brooke Green, all of Chatsworth, GA and Lori and Greg Auten of Columbus, GA; great grandchildren, Heather, Matthew, Emily, Alston, Nicole, Cassidy, Will, Rachael and Abby; nine great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary D. Dunn of Canton, GA; special friend Farrell Starnes; also survives. The many caregivers that Pat had while she lived in Ellijay, the workers of Halcyon Hospice and the staff of Cameron Hall in Canton are all greatly appreciated by the family.
Funeral services will be held at 3PM on Friday, November 18th, 2016 from the chapel of Logan Funeral Home with Pastor Sandra Henry officiating. Music and vocals will be by Rev. Irene Wofford. Graveside interment will follow in the Ellijay City Cemetery with Will Green, Matthew Sanford, Benji Lavender, David Sanford, Scott Brock, Brandon Elliott, David Green, Steve Hollingsworth, Greg Auten, and Felton Dunn serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Hal Stolz, Bill Henry, Joe Kelley McCutchen and Avary Dimmock.
Family will receive friends from 1PM until the service hour at 3PM on Friday, November 18th, 2016 at the Logan Funeral Home.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay at 75 McCutchen Street, Ellijay, GA 30540 or to the First United Methodist Church of Chatsworth at 111 West Cherokee Street, Chatsworth, GA 30705 in memory of Mrs. Green.
