Mrs. Nettie Davenport Pierce: Obituary

Mrs. Nettie Davenport Pierce age 89 of Chatsworth, formerly of Ellijay, died Saturday December 17, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Pierce was born on February 12, 1927 in Gilmer County to the late Fred & Sarah Harper Davenport. She was a retired lunchroom worker and member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by ; her husband, James Pierce, and sibling, Ruel Davenport, Dewey Davenport, Stella Parks, Jack Davenport, Dora Crook, Bill Davenport, Maxine Allen, Verta Worley, and Roma Cochran.

Survivors include Daughters and son-in-law; Carmen Fernandez of Ellijay and Angela and Brian Groenhout of Maryville, TN. Sons and daughter-in-laws; David & Jessie Pierce of Ellijay, Harold Pierce of Chatsworth, Wendell & Donna Pierce of Dalton, Freddie & Shelia Pierce of Cleveland, TN and Randy and Cheryl Pierce of Cohutta, 17grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday December 20, 2016 at 1:00pm from the Bernhardt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rubin Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday December 19, 2016 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
