Mrs. Bernice Evans Quarles, age 100, of Atlanta died March 23, 2017.
Mrs. Quarles was born June 8, 1916 in Gilmer County the daughter of the late John and Louella Starks Evans. She worked as a dental assistant and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay.
She is preceded in death by her parents, former husband Floyd Quarles, daughters Betty Bass, Virginia Barlow, sister’s, Winnie Edwards, Roma Davis, Vena Sales, brother’s Leonard Evans and Ernest Evans.
Survivors include: son Billy Quarles, Atlanta, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. Nieces and spouses, Linda and Mack Wood, East Ellijay, Rachel and Marvin Pritchett, Ellijay, Doris Davis, Ellijay, Geri and Herbert Rice, Fayetteville, Bea and Jim Rice, Austell, Merle and Cecil Farist, Marietta, Opel NeSmith, Macon, Ruth Ann and Howard Ralston, Dalton and Sue Painter, SC.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 1, 2017 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Minister Butch Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Tails Creek Baptist church cemetery.
Family will meet with friends Saturday April 1, 2017 from 1 until the funeral hour of 2:00pm.
