Mr. Dillard Winston Davis: Obituary

Mr. Dillard Winston Davis, age 76, of the Tails Creek community, Ellijay, GA passed Thursday evening, September 14th, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Davis was born June 8th, 1941 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Ernest G. and Rosa Amy Logan Davis. He graduated from Gilmer High School, Class of 1960, and went on to earn his associate degree from Truett McConnell College. Dillard was of the Methodist faith, served his country honorably in the United States Army, and retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. He is preceded in death by his son Mark Davis.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Ralph Garrett of Ellijay, GA; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Diane Davis of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren and in-law, Cristy Davis, Allan Davis, Ashley and Casey Callen, and Trevor Garrett; great grandchildren, Colton Callen and Chance Callen; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Wanda Davis of Ellijay, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Monday, September 18th, 2017 at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Rev. Emmett Burgess officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery with Michael Davis, Ralph Garrett, Billy Davis, Allan Davis, Trevor Garrett, and Casey Callen serving as pallbearers.

No visitation will be held at the funeral home.
