ELLIJAY, Ga. – Gilmer County Schools have officially announced that while they are holding class today, the schools will be closing three hours early.

Claiming the interest of safety, the school announced its early release. In addition, all after school activities are cancelled today (Tuesday), Jan. 16. This comes after the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the county lasting from noon until 7 a.m.
