Marilyn Theresa Davis: Obituary

Mrs. Marilyn Theresa Davis, age 72 of Ellijay, passed on Monday December 17^th, 2018 at Pruitt Healthcare Nursing Home in Blue Ridge, GA.

Mrs. Davis was born on June 30^th, 1946 in Columbus, GA to her late parents, Howard Leonard Strohl and Margaret Sullivan Strohl. Marilyn was a member of Flat Branch Baptist Church, worked as an accountant at Casino Magic and loved to crochet.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, December 20^th, 2018 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Smith and Rev. Tim Davis officiating. Music and vocals will be by Zachary Scott.  Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery following the service at 2:30pm in Canton, GA with Jacob Thornton, Dylan McCoy, Billy Thornton, Ethan Gerst, and Gregory Weaver all serving as pallbearers.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Luther Willard Davis of the home in Ellijay, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn Thornton of Morning Sun, Iowa, Corinna and Michael Hayes of Burlington, Iowa; sons and daughter-in-law, Patrick Scott and Leslie Davis of Marietta, GA, Eric Davis of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, William Thornton, Brandie Gerst, Jacob Thornton, Theresa McCoy, Benjamin Davis, Eric Davis II, Alexis Davis, Bryer  Hayes, Teal Kibbe; great-grandchildren, Reece Kibbe, Ronald Kibbe, Jr. Lilyana Abrazado, sisters, Barbara Scott of Dallas, GA, Janice Partidge of Saratoga, NY; and brother, Howard “Duffy” Strohl of Ellijay.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the service hour of 12:00noon on Thursday, December 20^th, 2018 at the Logan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children at 2900 North Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 3360 in memory of Mrs. Davis.
