Winnie Bell (Sanford) Banks

Ms. Winnie Bell (Sanford) Banks, age 86 of Ellijay passed on Tuesday February 26th, 2019 at the Union General Hospital in Blairsville. Winnie Bell was born on May 15th, 1932 to her late parents, Benjamin and Maggie Viola Crawford Sanford in Ellijay, GA. She was a member of the Tails Creek Baptist Church and a retiree of Galaxy Carpet Mills in Chatsworth. Winnie Bell is preceded in death by her husband, Bert G. Banks, Sr., daughter, Loretta Banks, daughter-in-law, Yelonda Clayton Banks, sisters, Cleo Copeland, Dorothy Lee Barnes, Annie Mae Burgess, Lillian Bridges and Rosa Lee Garland, brothers, Junior, Edward, Ruel, Earl and Frank Sanford.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday March 1st, 2019 from the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends officiating. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home.

She is survived by her son, BG Banks, Jr., grandchildren, Brett Banks, Adrianne & Darien Bowen and Bart & KC Banks, all of Ellijay, GA, great grandchildren, Skyler, Autumn, Kaley and Benny Banks, Bryce and Brooklyn Bowen, sisters and brother-in-law, Reatha Dotson of Ellijay, Juanita Long of Dalton, Josephine & Mike Gregory of Dalton, brother and sister-in-law, Harold & Dorothy Sanford of Ellijay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Crossroads Cemetery Fund at 433 Riverbottom Road Ellijay, GA 30536 or to the Tails Creek Cemetery Fund at 40 Fox Trail Court Talking Rock, GA 30175 in memory of Ms. Banks.
