Bertha J. Ellis: Obituary

Mrs. Bertha J. “Bert” Ellis age 81 of Ellijay died Tuesday December 21, 2010.Mrs. Ellis was born on December 20, 1929 in Cochran, GA. She is the daughter of the late Irby & Mattie Jones. She lived in Hawkinsville and Warner Robbins, GA and for the last 5 years resided in Ellijay. She will be so missed. She worked as a sheriffs deputy for the Portals Detention Center and was a member of the Episcopal Church in Hawkinsville, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Van Ellis, Jr., and children Pamela E. Brooks and William Van Ellis III.

Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law: Gwendolyn and Jouko Rissanen, Ellijay; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great grandchildren; Sister: Agnes Gay, Columbus, GA.
