William Robert “Pop” Goble: Obituary

Mr. William Robert “Pop” Goble age 81, of Tower Road, Ellijay, GA. passed from this life on Monday morning, January 17th, 2011 at his residence.He was born October 11th, 1929 to his late parents U.K. and Katherine Ollie Radcliff Goble in Ellijay, GA. Mr. Goble was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Oak Bowery Masonic Lodge #81 as a past master and employed as a mechanic for Knight Motor Company for 45 years. “Pop” was also an avid auto restorer, and restored the number one rated Cord in his class in the country.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosa Watkins Goble of the home in Ellijay, GA., sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Marilyn Goble of Conyers, GA., Robert Jerry Goble of Ellijay, GA., Phillip and Elaine Goble of Ellijay, GA., Glen and Mary Goble of Ellijay, GA., seven grandchildren Allen Goble, Jr., Shelly Goble, Stuart Goble, Steven Goble, Jennifer Goble, Alex Goble, and Tabitha Goble, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edmund Miller and Rev. Clifford Nelson officiating with Ronald and Linda Hyde with music and song. Graveside services will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Masonic services performed by Oak Bowery Lodge #81, followed by interment in the Mountain Town Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Sales, Victor Davis, Larry Watkins, Roy Smith, Tommy Evans, John Stewart, Ed Forrester and Hubert Parker.

Family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 at the Logan Funeral Home.
