Kennesaw State Owls sophomore Markeith Cummings was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday. Cummings scored a season-high 31 points in the Owls, 78-64 win over Campbell on Monday evening.
Cummings has had an extremely successful sophomore campaign for the Owls (6-17, 4-9 A-Sun), entering Tuesday second in the Atlantic Sun Conference with 17.9 points per game. He entered Monday ninth among all sophomores in scoring nationally.
The award is the third Player of the Week honor in Cummings’ career, as he won two in his freshman campaign last season on the way to A-Sun All Freshman and Second Team All A-Sun honors.
Cummings and the Owls are back in action on Thursday evening, when they host Florida Gulf Coast at 7:30 p.m. at the KSU Convocation Center.
