Maddox Drive will be closed beginning at 8:30am on Monday, February 14 and will remain closed for most of the day in order to prepare the cut for asphalt paving.
Progress Road will also be temporarily closed around that time. However, steel plates will be utilized and the road will open up as soon as work is completed.
The reason that steel plates cannot be utilized on the Maddox Drive cut is because of the grade of the road. The Water Authority said it would create a hazard as it would be difficult to keep the steel plates in place. The road will be opened back up as soon as the concrete sets up to the point that it can be crossed with an automobile.
