Ms. Ruby Lucille Newton age 84 of the Tails Creek Community of Gilmer County, Ellijay, Ga., passed on Sunday morning, April 3rd, 2011 from her residence. A member of Little Baptist Church, she was born September 2nd, 1926 to her late parents, Willis and Hijuanna Worley Boatner in Ellijay, Ga. She worked in the textile industry at J & C Carpets. Ms. Newton is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Oscar Newton; son, Mr. Floyd Newton and granddaughters, Amanda and Debbie Worley.

Survivors include son, William Newton of Ellijay, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Fred Johnson of Dalton, Ga., Samantha and Kevin Green of Ellijay, Ga.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Boatner of Ellijay, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Isabelle and Rev. Roy Scott of Ellijay, Ga. and special companion, Kimsey Davis.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Scott, Rev. Mitchell Pack and Rev. Corey Rich officiating. Music and song will be performed by Rev. Corey Rich, Cody Bearden and the Little Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow in the Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Scott, Shannon Newton, Cody Bearden, Clay Scott, Tommy Scott and Wayne Scott.

Family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 04, 2011 at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
