Member of Cherry Log Christian Church, born June 13th, 1946 to his late parents, Millas Don Helms, Jr. and Bessie Rutter Helms in Portsmouth, Virginia. Survivors include wife of 44 years, Neva Little Helms of the home in Ellijay, Ga.; son, Millas Don Helms IV of New Orleans, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Amy & James McDonald of LaPlace, La.; two grandsons, brother Clifton Helms of LaPlace, La.; sisters Sandra McPherson of Kill Double Hill, N.C., Gay Helms of Elizabeth City, N.C., Gale Barker of Elizabeth, N.C. and several nieces and nephews.
