Bobcats Bruise Dragons

The Gilmer High School Bobcats’ baseball team traveled down to Pickens to take on the Dragons of Pickens High School and thoroughly thrashed the home team with a 15-3 victory. The Bobcats had nine hits and two errors in the victory.The first inning saw both teams go scoreless. Each team scored its first run in the second inning. The Bobcats began bruising the Dragons in the top of the third, with three runs scored. Pickens ended the inning with a run scored to make the score 4-2.

In the top of the fourth Gilmer scored another run and scored two more runs in the top of the fifth. In both innings the home team was held scoreless.

Going into the top of the sixth, up 7-2, the Bobcats went on an eight run tear, while holding the Dragons to one run, to end the inning with the game’s final score of 15-3.
