National Day of Prayer in Gilmer County

Community

May 5th, on Thursday afternoon, a group of citizens gathered in the jury room on the second floor of the Gilmer County Courthouse to participate in the National Day of Prayer.

Pastor Jess C. Posey

Pastor Jess C. Posey officiated over the program. Joe Hensley led citizens in several hymns.

Joe Hensley

Pastor Posey delivered a brief message reminding us that God has his eye on the sparrow and how fortunate we are to live in America.

Russell Hood was scheduled to give the prayer. But when he stood he addressed the room concerning the importance of praying for our country and elected leaders.

Mr. Hood then spoke to Pat Shelton and asked Pat if he would deliver the prayer. Pat gladly accepted and said a beautiful prayer lifting up our Country, Our County Officials and the citizens of Gilmer County.

Pat Shelton

FYN spoke with Pat Shelton after the program and asked if he would share his testimony with us on video so we could share with our viewers. He gladly accepted and will be our first interview in a new fetchyournews.com weekly series called “MY TESTIMONY.” This will be located in our religion section. Watch for more information on this series soon.
