Mr. John B. Lummus age 93 of Ballground, formerly of Ellijay died Friday May 6, 2011.

Mr. Lummus was born on February 14, 1918 in Cherokee Co. He is the son of the late Gordon Lummus and Agnus Heath Lummus. He worked as a manager for Combine Insurance Company and he retired from the US Air Force after serving during WWII and the Korean War. He was an emeritus member of Oak Bowery Lodge #81 F & AM, a member of the Coosawattee Shrine Club, and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Forsyth Co.

Survivors include: Daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Bud Cowart, Ballground, Ann and Mack West, Ellijay; 4 Grandchildren; 9 Great grandchildren; 5 Great great grandchildren; Brother and sister-in-law: Mack and Gerry Lummus, Canton; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Caylor officiating. Interment will be in the Ellijay City Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Saturday, May 7 from 11am until 2pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
