Review of Atlas Shrugged-The Movie

Opinion

On Saturday, May 7th, my wife and I attended a special showing of Atlas Shrugged a movie based on Ayn Rand’s prophetic book of the same title. The book was first published in 1957 over fifty years ago. Its popularity has once again soared as its dire predictions are proving true right here in the United States of America.

Rand’s message is that when capitalism is destroyed people are destroyed, culture is destroyed, and hope and progress are ultimately destroyed. When government control becomes so overshadowing that profits can’t be made, the producers in a society disappear. Where do they go? Who is John Galt? See the movie and find out.

The book is a tome of over one thousands pages. This necessitates the film version be divided into three parts. Part One has just been released.

I highly recommend the movie to everyone who loves America and who doesn’t want to live in an ever-growing nanny state. See it for yourself. See it for your children and grandchildren.

The next showing will be at the East Towne Cinemas on Thursday, May 26th at 5:00PM.
