Mr. James Ruel Woody, age 75, of Altamonte Springs, FL formerly of Ellijay, Ga., died Saturday June 11, 2011.

Mr. Woody was born on June 1, 1936 in Gilmer Co. He is the son of the late Willard Woody and Bertha Burnette Woody. He worked as a mechanic and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mr. Woody was a Veteran having served in the US Air Force. He is preceded in death by his wife Flora Gilbert Woody and a brother Donnie Woody.

Survivors include: Daughter: Debbie Montgomery, Altamonte Springs, FL; Son: Jimmy Woody, Gainesville, FL; Sisters: Betty Waddell & Francine Stanley both of Ellijay; Brothers: Ernest Woody, Oregon, John Edwin Woody, Ellijay, Tom Woody, Peachtree City, GA; Grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 16, 2011 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Stover officiating.

Interment will be held in the Yukon Cemetery with Military Rites by the North GA Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held Wednesday June 15th from 5pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
