Mr. William “Bill” Joseph Prouty age 76 of Talona Mtn Road Ellijay died Monday June 20, 2011.

Mr. Prouty was born on August 8, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA. He is the son of the late Harold Samuel Prouty and Rose Becker Prouty. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay, a veteran of the United States Army, and owner of Mr. P’s restaurant in Ellijay. He was preceeded in death by a brother James Prouty.

Survivors Include: Wife: Jo Ann Prouty of the home; Daughters & sons-in-law: Tracy & Jimmy Doyal, Hawaii, Kelly & Kevin Bramlett, Ellijay, Carey & Troy Southern, Ellijay; Sons & daughter-in-law: Joe & Tara Prouty, Acworth, Michael Prouty, Maryland; 11 Grandchildren; Brother & sister-in-law, Thomas & Sue Prouty, California; Sister, Patricia Prouty, Ellijay; Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 22, 2011 at 2pm from the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Rev. Sid Webb, Dr. Milton Perry and Dr. David Drake officiating. Interment will be held in the Yukon Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 21 from 5pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
