Mrs. Dell Henson Ellis, age 85, of the Cartecay Community, Ellijay, Ga., passed from this life on Sunday, June 26th, 2011 from Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, born March 17th, 1926 in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Georgia to her late parents, John Leonard Henson and Fostia Whitaker Henson. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School class of 1943, and was then employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at Johnson’s Furniture and Western Auto until retirement.

Survivors include: James Paul Ellis of the home in Ellijay, Ga.; sister and brothers-in-law Mildred and Brent Mosley of Ellijay, Ga., Jesse Ellis of Akron, Oh., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Scott and Rev. Leon Pettit officiating, music and vocals by the Turniptown Church Choir. Pallbearers will be: Tim Moseley, Jon Mosley, Harold Henson, Johnny Henson, Jimmy Nichols and Delfino Barrera.

Family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28th, 2011 at Logan Funeral Home.
