Barbara Gilmore Hurd : Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jean Gilmore Hurd age 72 of Old Highway 5 North, Ellijay died Tuesday June 28, 2011.

Mrs. Hurd was born on June 11, 1939 in Wheat, TN. She is the daughter of the late Sam Gilmore & Eula Gilmore. She was a paraprofessional in the Gilmer County School System for over 20 years and a member of the Emory Heights Baptist Church in Harriman, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Edgar Hurd, Jr. and brother James E. Gilmore.

Survivors include: Son and daughter-in-law: Jeff Hurd and Brenda Davis, Ellijay; Grandson and spouse: Justin and Jessica Hurd, Ellijay; Sister-in-law: Barbara Gilmore, Pinson, AL; Special Friends: Sue Stephens Schneider, Lorene Nelson, both of Ellijay.

Funeral services will be held Friday July 1, 2011 at 2pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. James Holt and Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Interment will be held in the Yukon Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday, June 30th from 3pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
