Tuesday’s Touchdowns Take

I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the Falcons big win over the Pheagles. I figured the Falcons would be Vicktimized and #7 would leave the Dome with a Vicktory. Instead Matty Ice through a career high four touchdowns, Tony Gonzalez found the fountain of youth, and I finally heard Ray Edwards, and Peria Jerry’s names called. There are still problems in the secondary, as Donta’ Robinson continues to miss tackles left and right, and Sam Baker got beat like he was paying for it all night. Despite Ryan spending all night getting up, and possible the worst personal foul ever called on John Abraham, my Dirty Birds rose up.Phony Romo won a great deal of respect from many people when he played with a broken rib and a punctured lung, to lead the Cowboys 27-24 win over the 49ers. A punctured lung? A punctured lung? I’ve never been a Phony Romo fan, but that’s impressive, if not necessarily bright.

The Georgia Bulldogs finally got a win. Congratulations. Meanwhile, down at the flats, Paul Johnson’s crew is running up the score, literally, at an alarming rate. The Jackets stung Kansas over and over, through the air and on the ground. Watch out that Tech bowl losing streak could be in serious jeopardy if opponents have to fear the air attack.

Fantasy football could have been much better for me, if I had simply started Vincent Jackson. I know many would ask, how could I not start him? The answer is simple, my team is extremely good, and if you don’t produce, you sit on the bench. That being said, after losing a game by less than the 30 points Jackson gave me on the bench, I think he’ll be in the starting line up next week. I know Aaron Foster has one more week of doing nonproduction, before he finds himself on the chopping block. Beware of one hit wonders like Til Tuesday’s “Voices Carry.”

Speaking of chopping block, did I really see my Falcon’s punter, kick the ball 18 yards? I must admit, I would have cut him before he hit the sideline. Kudos to Mike Smith for keeping his cool and helping his guys keep their’s.

On the local level, I’ve got to give a shout out to the Gilmer High School Bobcats, who pulled the paws of the Panthers of Ridgeland to secure a homecoming victory and 3-1 record heading into the bye week.

I know this is not football related, but I want to let boxer Victor Ortiz know, in the immortal words of Tupac Shakur, “you got to keep your head up!”
