The annual Apple Festival 5K race will begin at 8:00 a.m. this Saturday. The one mile fun run/walk will begin at 8:45 a.m.Race-day registration is 20.00 and begins at 7:00 a.m.at the Ellijay Elementary School gym. Entrants will receive a T-shirt and all proceeds will benefit the children involved in the Willow Creek Adolescent Center, a non-profit alcohol and drug treatment program located in Ellijay.

Early Registration applications may be picked up at the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce, Ellijay Fitness and Gold’s Gym and the cost is 15.00. Applications may also be completed online at www.georgiarunner.com and www.active.com. The deadline for early registration is Wednesday, October 5th.

This is a “Run and See Georgia” grad prix series race, where runners earn points for participating.
