The Gilmer High School Bobcats made the long trek to Cedartown, to take on the Bulldogs. Cedartown showed the visitors no hospitality as the Bulldogs cruised to a 46-6 victory. Gilmer simply had no answer for the Bulldogs rushing attack, as Cedartown racked up a 416-55 yard advantage on the ground. The running game was so effective that the Bulldogs won despite completing only one pass on the night.The debacle began early for the Bobcats, when Cedartown’s Delandrin Battle, waged war on the Gilmer defense with a 59 yard scamper for a touchdown, on the Bulldogs second play from scrimmage. The subsequent extra point made the score 7-0.

The Bobcats could not scratch the defense of the Bulldogs, as Cedartown kept 10 in the box successfully stifling the Gilmer ground attack.

Cedartown increased the lead to 14 with just over five minutes left in the half, when an interception of Gilmer’s Marlin Hensley that gave the Bulldogs the ball at the Bobcat 35 yard line, lead to another rushing touchdown.

The Bulldogs’ defense held the Bobcats in check again, and Cedartown scored once again, going for two to take a 22-0 lead into the half.
The Bobcats tried unsuccessfully to recover a second half opening on side kick, which led to the Bulldogs possession beginning on the Gilmer 48 yard line. Five plays later, the Bulldogs led 28-0.

The Bulldogs scored three more touchdowns, before Hensley connected with Connor Webber on a 30 yard touchdown pass for the Bobcats’ only score of the game.

Gilmer next takes on Cartersville on the road, on October 7th at 7:30 p.m
