Myra C. Thomas : Obituary

Mrs. Myra C. Thomas age 60 of Old Tailscreek Rd. Ellijay died Saturday Oct. 8 2011.Mrs. Thomas was born Nov. 3,1950 in Walker County GA, the daughter of the late Walter and Irene Wilbanks Crane. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Masters Degree in Education. She taught full time for 30 years in the Gilmer County School system and a number of years as a substitute and homebound teacher until her retirement. She also was a member of the Retired Teachers Assn. and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Ike Thomas, Father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Lucille Thomas, Sister: Wanda McDaris, Brother Kenneth Crane.

Survivors include: Husband: John Thomas, Sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Jane and David Schaller, Savannah GA, Aunt: Farrell Starnes, Ellijay.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday October 11th at 2pm from the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Drake and Dr. Milton Perry officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday October 10th from 3pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
