Hilda Faye Turley : Obituary

Mrs. Hilda Faye Turley, age 67 of Old Mill Road, Ellijay died Sunday October 9, 2011.

Mrs. Turley was born December 22, 1943 in Dallas, GA, the daughter of the late Jack and Florence Deal Shipp. She graduated Dallas High School in 1961 where she was involved in the 4-H club, Art Club, and F.H.A. club, as well as playing basketball. She was employed by the East Ellijay Wal-Mart in sales and was active in the Gilmer County Relay For Life. Hilda was a faithful member of the Ellijay Church of Christ where she was active in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and the Ladies Bible Study. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Shipp Poole and brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Barbara T. Shipp.

Survivors: Husband: Bruce Turley of the home; Daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy Caldwell and her Fiance Tommy Collier Grantville, GA; Terri and Tony Johnson, Kennesaw; Tina and Lee Smith, Sharpsburg; Cindy and Albert Parker, Gadsen, AL; Wendy and Brad Hubbard, OK; Brothers and sister-in-law: Garry and Susan Shipp, Etowah, TN; Keith and Sara Shipp Murl and Cathy Shipp all of New Hope, GA; 12 grandchildren, Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 12, 2011 at 1p.m. from the Ellijay Church of Christ with Minister Butch Jones officiating. The body will lie-in-state from 12noon until 1p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery at 3:30pm.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 11th from 6pm until 8pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home. Bernhardt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
