Animal Shelter Budget Hearing

At the Tuesday November 1st budget hearing, the county Animal Shelter submitted its 2012 budget to the Board of Commissioners. The shelter’s projected revenue for next year is the same as this year’s figure, $6000. For 2011, though, its actual revenue through the end of September was $4,817.58. The department’s requested expenditure for next year is $129,726, a $200 increase from last year’s $129,526. The increase is due to the hike in the license required to operate the shelter, mandated and issued by the Georgia Department of Agriculture.
