At the November 3rd Budget hearing, Court Clerk Glenda Sue Johnson submitted the 2012 Budget Request for the Clerk of Court and Board of Equalization. This year, the Clerk of Court had a budgeted expenditure of $512,117. For next year, however, Johnson requested an expenditure of $501,761, for a decrease of $10,356.
During the same discussion, on behalf of the Board of Equalization (BOE), Johnson also submitted its budget request for next year. The BOE’s budgeted expenditure for this year is $30,713. The board’s requested expenditures for next year is $35,313, an increase $4,600. During the discussion, Johnson explained that the increase is due to the upcoming three appointments to the board. If the appointments are new appointments, she explained, the county will have to pay for travel expenses and the appropriate training for the new board members. If the Grand Jury reappoints existing members, then the county will not have to pay for training expenses.
