Dozens of festively-clad participants and spectators turned out for the Reindeer Rally on December 10 in Downtown Ellijay. The 5K run/walk started at 6 P.M. and the bicycle “fun ride” began shortly after 7 P.M. Despite the cold and breezy evening, the Christmas spirit was alive and warm. People wearing green and red clothes and reindeer antlers were at the rally along with a few elves and even the Grinch.

The race began and ended on Gilmer Street. Its course took the participants to the City Hall, the elementary school, Sailors Drive, and around the courthouse to cross the finish line that was set up behind Dalton State College.

Everyone gathered in the toasty warm Dalton State College lobby for the awards ceremony which began around 7 P.M. Winners walked away with medals and all participants took home water bottles and t-shirts from the event.
