A strong woman with both faith and a beautiful soul, Karin Newell, heard her name called on the morning of December 20, 2011.She passed from this life into the next surrounded by her family at her home following a long battle with Scleroderma at only 65 years of age. She was a German immigrant who made her life here in the states in 1969 and was Christian by faith.
Karin is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Crystal and Tony Bramlett, Ellijay, Nancy Long, Ellijay, Betty and Isreal Bernal, Kennesaw, and Margie and Steve Massey of Tybee Island. She is also survived by father Josef Sepp Stoiber, sister and brother-in-law Beate and Hans Grolla all of Germany and ex-husband Frank Newell of Ellijay. Her grandchildren total 9 and great grandchildren 5. She is preceded in death by mother, Anna Zelzer Stoiber, sister Evie, one child (unnamed) all of Germany, and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 22, 2011 at 11am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. David LeGrande officiating.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 6pm until 8pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation at www.scleroderma.org or to the Georgia Mountains Hospice, 70 Caring Way/P.O. Box 580 Jasper, GA 30143. The family request that no food be brought to the funeral home.
