Verlin Sweat, Jr. : Obituary

Mr. Verlin Sweat, Jr. age 62 of Big Creek Rd. Ellijay died Wednesday December 28,2011.

Mr. Sweat was born March 14, 1949 in Wartburg, TN, the son of Verlin Sweat, Sr. and the late Maxine Wilson Sweat. He was a retired attorney and was also retired from the Lowe’s of East Ellijay where he was employed as the store manager. Mr. Sweat was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and sisters, Lois and Anna Sweat and a brother Varnell Sweat.

Survivors include: Wife: Debbie Edmondson Sweat of the home; Sons and daughter-in-law: Spencer and Ashley Sweat, Marietta, Chandler Sweat, Buford; Daughter: Ashley Sweat, Atlanta; Father Verlin Sweat, Sr Wartburg, TN; Mother-in-law: Mavis Edmondson, Ellijay; 2 nieces also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday December 30, 2011 at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Hank Jones and Rev. Daniel Hyatt officiating. Interment will be in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o of Franklin Holden 221 Pisgah Rd Ellijay, Ga. 30536 in memory of Mr. Sweat.

The family will meet with friends Thursday from 5pm until 8pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
