Sheriff Stacy Nicholson announces the retirement of Lt. Tommy Coleman of the Gilmer Co. Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Coleman is a 40-year law enforcement veteran, having previously served with Floyd Co. Police Dept., Cherokee Co. Sheriff’s Office, Forsyth Co. Sheriff’s Office, and as the Chief of the Ball Ground Police Dept. He has spent his last five years with the Gilmer Co. Sheriff’s Office as a Watch Commander in the Gilmer Co. Detention Center.
Sheriff Nicholson says, “Lt. Coleman came to the Sheriff’s Office at a time when we needed experienced supervision in the jail, and he brought just that. Coleman will be missed but we wish him well with his retirement.”
