Tim Theobald Announces His Candidacy for Sheriff

I wish to make the voters of Gilmer County aware of my candidacy for the office of Sheriff.My wife Linda and I have been residents of Gilmer County for the past seven years.

I started my law enforcement career in Houston Texas and then moved to the Tennessee/Georgia area. I hold Law Enforcement certifications in three States with over 2000 hours of specialized training. I served in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as an undercover narcotics agent. While with the G.B.I., I was assigned to the Governors Strike Force on Violent Crime. I later served in the Sheriffs Department as a Detective Sergeant assigned to work general investigations, child abuse, sex crimes and as an undercover narcotics agent. I have participated in the development of two multi-jurisdictional drug task forces; serving as Commander of the local Zell Miller Drug Task Force. I have served with Homeland Security as a Security Manager. I have devoted years of service to zealously combating the illegal drug problem in our Country.

If elected Sheriff I will utilize my numerous years of Law Enforcement and past experiences to, continue fighting our community’s drug problem, serve the community and protect the citizens of Gilmer County.
