Danny “Dan” Wayne Sanford : Obituary

Danny Wayne Sanford, 62, passed from this life on Friday, February 3rd, 2012, at his home in Bonney Lake, Washington.A member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, he was born on April 29, 1949, in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Georgia. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School, class of 1967, captain of the basketball team and also played baseball. After graduation Danny joined the United States Air Force. After being stationed several places around the world, his last station was in the state of Washington, where he married his lovely wife Nancy, raised his family and retired as Post Master at this location. Danny has led a wonderful, productive life for himself and his fellowman.

Danny is survived by his wife Nancy of the home, daughters and sons-in-law; Julie and Jed Rusyniak, Angie Sandord, all of Bonney Lake, Washington, Monica and Greg Skov of Seattle, Washington: grandchildren; Alic, Elijah, Shaelynn, Madison, Carson, Cameron and Olivia: sisters and brothers; Lisa James Southerland of Jasper, GA, Mitchell and Tracy James of Ellijay, GA, Elizabeth Sanford Wilson, Margaret Sanford, Sheila Sanford Arnold, Bennie Ray Sanford, all of Ellijay, GA: several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Frances Sanford James.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25th, at Danny’s home church, Crossroads Baptist Church, with Rev. Janie Dotson officiating, and the Crossroads Baptist Church Choir to provide music and song. A Military Salute by the North Georgia Honor Guard will honor Danny for his service to his country and in the United States Air Force, immediately following the Memorial Tribute.

The family will receive frineds immediately following the Military Service. Everyone is invited for this tribute to “Dan”.
