Shane Bowman has announced he is seeking the office of Gilmer County Sheriff in 2012.In making his announcement, Bowman said “I returned to Gilmer County so that my wife and I could raise our children in a small community with emphasis on family values. I have been in the law enforcement field in Gilmer County for over ten years. During that time I have served in a variety of capacities the field has to offer. ”
“In the tough economic times we are in, it is vital to Gilmer County to maintain a budget sensitive department and still provide the citizens with an impeccable department that does just what they swore an oath to do, protect and serve.”
Bowman concluded his announcement adding, “I have the desire and energy to tackle the issues we face, and the experience to make it happen. I am truly concerned about the citizens of Gilmer County. I embrace the opportunity to make a positive change within our community and ask the citizens of Gilmer County for your consideration, your prayers, and your vote.
