Horace “Les” Leon Lesley : Obituary

Horace “Les” Leon Lesley of the Beaver Lake Community, Ellijay, GA passed from this life Monday afternoon, April 2nd, 2012 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, Jasper, GA.He was of the Baptist faith, born April 1st, 1929 to his late parents John O. and Beulah Lesley in Piedmont, SC. Mr. Lesley served his country honorably in the Air National Guard during the Korean War. He was a retiree of Martin Marietta after 40 years of employment. Mr. Lesley was an aerospace engineer and was passionate about amateur “ham radio”. Mr. Lesley is preceded in death by his wife Joan Elisabeth Lesley.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law; Stewart and Carey Lesley of Crofton, MD, Scott Lesley of Summerfield, FL, Bert Lesley of Saint Cloud, FL, 8 grandchildren, brother; Glen Lesley of White Hall, MD.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday April 7th, at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Rev. Jim Bradley officiating. Military rites will be performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Graveside interment will take place in the Hillcrest Memorial Garden in Annapolis, MD.
