Featured Stories, Team FYN Sports

The Bobcats had seven runs that came in the first two innings and another run in the sixth.

Gilmer let Dalton hang around all seven innings. Sawyer Thompson pitched three innings leaving the game with the score 7-4.

Austin White started the fourth and pitched 2 2/3 innings. With the score 8-6, two outs and the tying runs on the corners and the winning run coming to the plate Coach Barr called on Shane Dale.

It was up to Dale to bring home the last out in the bottom of the sixth. He walked his first batter loading the bases. A tense moment was overcome with a sigh of relief when the next batter grounded out to second.

The Catamounts put a little pressure on the Bobcats in the seventh but Dale held them off for the save.

Dalton head coach may regret holding two Catamount runners late in the game that may have scored if sent home. Sometimes it’s good to be conservative in the running game and then every once in a while you just turn the corner and go for it!

Next game is at home against Heritage Thursday. First pitch 5:55
