Featured Stories, Politics

I have been working in the Tax Commissioner’s office for the past eight years. Therefore, I have a working knowledge of the Property Taxes, Motor Vehicle (Car tags and titles), and for the past five
years I have been the bookkeeper in the (Accounting Department), responsible for deposits, and the distribution of all monies collected in the tax office to the County, City, School and State.

I am forty nine years old, the mother of two and grandmother of four. I have been happily married for sixteen years to Danny Marshall (who is employed by ETC). I am a long time resident of Gilmer County living in the Cartecay Community. I am a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ. I like to read, travel, and spend time with my precious grandchildren.

I have made my decision to seek the position of Gilmer County Tax Commissioner after much consideration and encouragement from family, friends and most importantly citizens of Gilmer County.

I feel the past eight years in the Tax Office has given me the experience and the knowledge needed to efficiently manage the Tax Commissioner’s Office. I promise the people of Gilmer County that I
will work hard to bring about positive changes. I will center my campaign around the establishment of great customer service by starting with an open door policy the day I take office. I will also
focus on the efficient and timely collection of all taxes while taking into consideration the current economic times by working with the customer in every way possible. Lets return the tax office back to the people!!!!

I would like thank everyone for their words of encouragement in serving the tax payers of Gilmer County. I would also like to ask everyone for your prayers, and your support throughout this election.
