An American Phenomenon

Opinion

Opinion written by George McClellan

A few short years ago, a phenomena swept the USA which continues to this day. It hasn’t been stopped. It was an idea that simultaneously and almost immediately sprouted up in cities and towns all across the nation and morphed into political action groups that singularly called themselves the TEA Party. These are not national organizations with structural lines of leadership running from the top to the field but grass roots conglomerations of concerned citizen’s suddenly alarmed by the negative political direction America has taken – while we all slept. Most are composed of conservative Republicans who don’t know where to turn.

Too late did we realize that our elected representatives were actually becoming the enemies of the Constitution because they came to see themselves as “elites” with careers to protect rather than part-time representatives with American ideals to uphold. While we slept, the sinister forces of liberalism were allowed to slowly eat away at the strengths of our nation, eroding away the moral base that has sustained us over two hundred years of phenomenal economic and personal liberty growth. They were allowed to destroy our system of education to spew out educated morons that now make up Occupy Wall Street, anarchists and sexual deviates types.

But, change is coming. As we speak, the TEA Party of Indiana is struggling with ousting long time RINO Senator Dick Lugar to replace him with a TEA Party candidate, Richard Mourdock. The same is happening in Utah where Orin Hatch’s career is in serious jeopardy and he is very likely to follow former Utah Senator Bob Bennett into needed oblivion. We have a couple here in Georgia.

Conservatives and TEA parties has been derided by the Liberal/Progressives with unflattering characterizations about their parentage and accused by Homeland Security as potential terrorist, lumping military veterans and retired law enforcement into that category. The commentariet, in another bout of wishful thinking, are announcing (hoping for) the apparent demise of the TEA Party as a viable protest group that has lost its steam and poses no real threat to the reelection of the messiah. As they have been wrong on just about every other thing, I think they are wrong about this too.

But it is not only the Liberal/Progressives that have derided the conservatives and TEA Partier’s, but the the Republican Party national leadership, fearful of losing their careers and thus their power. The recent Republican debates, for those that paid attention, were eye-opening exercises in where the GOP establishment stands and where the GOP grassroots, including TEA Partier’s, want it to go. We see a candidate apparently already picked for us, but better qualified than the last one picked for us. However, this election is not just between a really incompetent and criminal democratic organization, but is actually a contest between the odious and failed philosophy of socialistic collectivism and the proven philosophy of capitalistic free enterprise. therefore, we must support the GOP candidate. But let’s try to make this one the last one picked for us by our elites.

Finally, a word about the new pressure on the old GOP establishment, the continued presence of Rep. Ron Paul. It is to Ron Paul’s continually reminding us that America has a Constitution that isn’t being followed that our conscientiousness is being reawakened to what’s right and what isn’t right. He has awakened Americans to the danger we face as a nation of sliding down the slippery slope into the pit of collectivist oblivion. Ron Paul may never be President but his presence will always be felt. Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Go get ‘em!
