Tamla Motes Lewis age 71, passed from this life Monday morning, May 14, 2012.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay, born November 25th, 1940 to her late parents Euwell Leon and Edna D. Robinson Motes in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida. She was a graduate of Hendersonville High School, class of 1958 and college in North Carolina, class of 1962. She was employed an a dietitian at George Washington Hospital. She was a devoted boy scout “Grandma” with scout troop 402 in Ellijay.
Tamla was preceeded in death by her husband Edward L. Lewis.
Survivors incude children and in-laws; Michelle and Hugh Pearson, John and Linda Stepp, step children and in-laws; Judy and Wayne Clark, Carl and April Lewis, Steve and Lee Lewis, three grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, one step great grandchild.
Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17th, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay. Officiating, Rev. Danny Barton and Rev. Sharon Watkins. Graveside interment is at the Ellijay City Cemetery.
Family will recieve friends from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening May 15th at Logan Funeral Home.
