Royle John Kipp, Sr. : Obituary

Royle John Kipp, Sr. age 78, of the Yukon Community, Ellijay, passed Saturday, May 19th, 2012 from his residence.Mr. Kipp was a member of the Good Samaritan Catholic Church of Ellijay, born November 25th, 1933 to his late parents Lyman Eichel & Edna Gertrude Steinworth Kipp in Ardsley, NY. He attended Ardsley High School, Valley Forge Military Academy, Wayne, PA. He earned an appointment to West Point, attended Gettysburg College. He was captain of the Ardsley, NY Fire Department, vice president of the family business “Kipp Brothers Inc.”, retiring in 1977. He was superintendent of streets and drainage in Naples, FL.

Survivors include wife of 56 years Janet Orr Kipp of the home in Ellijay, daughters and sons-in-law; Candace and Mark Hahner of Jasper, GA, Cheryl and Willard Bryant, Caren and Mitchell Coleman, both of Ellijay, sons; Royle J. Kipp, Jr. of West Palm beach, FL, Scott Kipp of West Palm Beach, FL, William Kipp, Sr. and fiancé Dawn Cohoon of Naples, FL, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many loving friends.

A memorial mass service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, June 2nd, 2012 from the Good Samaritan Catholic Church of Ellijay. Officiating will be Father Randy Mattox.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Catholic Church at 55 Church Street, Ellijay, GA 30540 or the American Cancer Society, 200 West Emory Street, Suite 3, Dalton, GA 30720 in memory of Mr. Kipp.
