Hunter Bicknell suspended his run for the Ninth District Congressional seat today.
“Today, instead of qualifying for U.S. Congress, I will seek reelection as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners,”
Bicknell said in a press release today.
“It is disappointing,”
he added,
“that in politics today, well-funded lobbyists and PACs control and manipulate elections. I ran a strong grassroots campaign focused on controlling the runaway spending and halting our national debt. My team and I are very proud of the race we’ve run and are encouraged by the amount of positive feedback we’ve received”
said Bicknell. He said also he would like to thank everyone who endorsed his campaign and worked diligently to help elect a conservative businessman to Congress.
“This decision did not come lightly but it became apparent to me that the necessary amount of funds would not be coming in.”
Bicknell remarked.
In a conversation with FYN today, Bicknell’s Campaign Manager Mark Pettit stated that Mr. Bicknell would not endorse any candidates in the Ninth Distict Race.
