Robert W. Cousins : Obituary

Robert W. Cousins, of Jasper, GA, died July 8th surrounded by his beloved family and dogs. He was 72.

A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Ellijay, Ga. Military rites will be performed by the North GA Honor Guard.

Bob was a Captain in the United States Marine Corp and later, a successful businessman. After retiring, Bob enjoyed his quiet life in Ellijay, spending time with his family. Until his Parkinson’s Disease curtailed his activities, he could be found caring for his horses, riding his motorcycle, and taking walks with his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Cousins; his five daughters and their spouses, Connie and Edwin Baker, Chrissy and Tim Odom, Lori and Josh Walker, Lydia and Thomas Marks, and Charlotte and Billy Cook; and 6 grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all those who contributed to Bob’s care during the last months of his life. Particularly the caregivers at Georgia Mountains Hospice, who spent so much time making him happy and comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, Bob’s family would like to ask that a donation be made to Georgia Mountains Hospice @ 70 Caring Way Jasper, GA 30143.
