Julia Katherine Eubanks Evatt, age 81 of Dallas, GA, formerly of Ellijay, GA, passed from this life on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from the Tranquility Wellstar Community Hospice in Austell, GA. Mrs. Evatt was a past member of the Mountaintown Baptist Church and a current member of the Grace Pointe Marietta Baptist Church. She was born July 23rd, 1930 in Ellijay, GA, to her late parents Thomas Jefferson and Thelma Pauline Marr Eubanks. She was a graduate of Rome Girls High School and North Georgia College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Literature Degrees. She was Vice President of Public Relations at the Georgia International Life Insurance Company.

Mrs. Evatt is preceded in death by husband Donald Lewis Evatt, sister Irene Eubanks, brothers Tommy Eubanks and Bob Eubanks.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Karen E. and Warren Owen of Marietta, GA, Donna and Doug Beck of Ellijay, Lauren Evatt and Ken Finley of Powder Springs, GA, son; Thomas J. Evatt of Dallas, GA, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law; Carolyn and Pendley Holmes of Menlo, GA, Monna and Chales Lumsden of Greensboro, GA, Donna and Wayne Hurst of Greensboro, GA, brothers and sisters-in-law; William Eubanks of Albany, GA, Douglas and Nancy Eubanks of Armuchee, GA, Milton Eubanks of Albany, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15th, 2012 in the Mountaintown Baptist Church where she will lie in state from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Rev. John Bramlett and Rev. Jim Akins will officiate, with music and song by Fonda Riley and Lydia Lawrence.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14th at the Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
