Dora Mae Chastain Land : Obituary

Mrs. Dora Mae Chastain Land age 89 of Mt. Pleasant Dr. Ellijay died Thursday July 26, 2012.

Mrs. Land was born April 22, 1923 in Gilmer County to the late Jason Chastain and Addie Burrell Chastain. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant “Buckhorn” Baptist Church. Mrs. Land is preceded in death by husband, Rev. Ernest Land and son, Junior Land.

Survivors Include: Sons and Daughters in-law: Wendell & Charlotte Land, Ellijay, Rev. Edwin & Barbara Land, MCaysville, GA, Harold & Virginia Land, Hiawassee, GA, Melvin & Kim Land, Ellijay, Yvonne Land, Dalton, GA; Daughters and Sons in-law: Betty & Kenneth Allen, Blue Ridge, GA, Linda & Ronald Hyde, Ellijay; 7 Grandchilren, 11 Great Grandchildren 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, Sisters: Eula Deaton, Canton, Peggy Ragsdale, Jasper; Half Brother: Willard Chastain, Smyrna; Sisters-in-law: Flora Land, Ellijay, Lillie Land, Ellijay.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 28 at 11 a.m. from the Mt. Pleasant “Buckhorn” Baptist Church with Rev. James Worley and Rev. Leon Pettit officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday, July 26 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and all day Friday July 27 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
