Barbara Ann Scott Rowe, of Ellijay died Saturday Sept. 29, 2012 at her home after a long illness.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1933 in Rome, GA, the only daughter of A. D. and Lucile M. Scott.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray A. Rowe, two children; Nelson A. Rowe, Jasper and Judith A. Maurer, Dallas, GA. Six grandchildren; Hannah Gerland, Ty Rowe, Sailor Rowe, Genevieve Rowe, Heather Hoffman and Dustin Maurer. Three brothers; Howard A. Scott and Edwin Scott, Rome, GA, and William E. Scott, Kennesaw, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Barbara graduated from Marietta High School in 1951 as an honor graduate. She was a licensed Dental Hygienist, and attended Ashland Kentucky Community College. Although she worked most of her adult life, her life centered around her family and the support of her husband in his career.

Graveside services will be held Thursday Oct. 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Memory Garden at Kennesaw Memorial Park 1306 Whitlock Ave. in Marietta. Rev. Peter Smith officating. Music will be by Julie Albertson, principle harpist for Georgia Symphony Orchestra.
