Third Annual Brunswick Stew Lunch

Non Profit

The third annual Brunswick stew lunch took place on Friday October 5 from 11:00 till 1:30 at Mountain Aires Reality on 97 Mulberry Street off of Highway 515. Fetch Your News sat down with Office manager and associate broker Brian Wilder and asked him some very important questions on just how it all got started. He says that it all got started when former employee Lorie Wade who had generously helped out at the Gilmer County Food Pantry decided that her and her husband Johnny wade would start a fundraiser that would help raise money for the food bank. Brian stated that all donations and money received went straight to the Gilmer County Food Bank. He also said that Mountain Aires Reality was happy to help out the community and that it was their pleasure as a reality company to help out the community in any way.
It seems that Gilmer County Food Bank has been helping the community as well. It started in 2001 as a way to help people and families in need of food. They are open every Wednesday and feed approximately seventy families a week. Over the past eleven years they have generously helped feed the citizens of Gilmer County and thank them for the time they spend ensuring that the citizens of our community are fed.
