Rev. Marvin McArthur : Obituary

Rev. Marvin McArthur age 77 of Knight Rd. Ellijay died Friday October 12, 2012.

Rev. McArthur was born on August 18, 1935 in Fannin Co. He is the son of the late David McArthur and Nola Postell McArthur. He worked as a plumber and an electrician, was a member of the Flat Branch Baptist Church. Rev. McArthur was ordained a Baptist Minister in 1967. He pastored for 39 years at 8 Baptist churches. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Amy Banks & Bonnie Long.

Survivors include: Wife of 49 years: Marjorie Quarles McArthur of the home; Son & daughter-in-law: Stanley & Rhonda McArthur, Ellijay; Daughter & son-in-law: Mary & Tim Hensley, Ellijay; 4 Grandchildren; 6 Brothers: Mayford, Cleaburn, Arvin, Buford & Douglas McArthur all of Ellijay, Claude McArthur, Tifton, GA; 1 Sister: Ethel Chastain, Ellijay; Several nieces & nephews also survive

Funeral services will be held Monday October 15, 2012 at 2pm from the Flat Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Franklin Harper, Rev. Tim Hyde, Rev. Steve Jones & Rev. Charles Wright officiating.

Interment will be held in the Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday Oct. 13th from 6pm until 9pm and all day Sunday until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home. Bernhardt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
